RJ TextEd 15.65 – Text and Source Editor

RJ TextEd is a full-featured text and source editor with Unicode support. It is also a very powerful web (PHP, ASP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS) development editor. The functionality extends beyond text files and includes support for CSS/HTML editing with integrated CSS/HTML preview, spell-checking, auto-completion, HTML validation, templates, and more.

RJ TextEd is developed using Delphi from Embarcadero and is released as Freeware.

The program also supports a Top-style Lite CSS editor, has a dual-pane file commander, as well as an (S)FTP client to upload your files.

The editor uses language files to display menus and dialogues in different languages. RJ TextEd is also a simple web development tool. The editor can use auto-completion and hints to assist you in editing your source code.

You can preview HTML/ASP/PHP… code using one of the preview tabs or open a document in a browser. The editor does not only handle source code. RJ TextEd also handles true ASCII files, binary files, and of course plain text files.

Run multiple instances

You can open another instance of the program if you hold the CTRL key while launching the editor.
If you select several files in explorer and open them in the editor using the context menu while holding the CTRL key – every file will be opened in its own editor window.
Removed the option to allow another instance on a different virtual desktop.

Code Explorer

Added a search box to the method list.

Made changes to improve Code Explorer navigation.

Fixed several issues. It should install/uninstall properly now, show an icon and open multiple files properly.

You can also open each selected file in its own instances of the program if you press the CTRL key.

Fixed
  • Path issue when opening a file with no path and the app is running.
  • Folder picker issue on Windows XP.
  • Tcl/Tk namespace support.

The program has been tested in Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7/8/10 (32 and 64-bit) and Linux (Wine). (32 and 64-bit).

Note that the language and syntax files will be replaced when installing a new version. Place user language files and user syntax files in the “User-defined” folder.
