PDF OCR is an easy-to-use application that allows you to convert PDF files to plain text documents and images to PDF.
The program's interface is simple and straightforward. For PDF to TXT conversion, you can only open PDF files through a file browser, as the "drag and drop" method is not supported (nor is batch processing).
This allows you to go to the next or previous page and zoom in and out. After starting the conversion task, you can enable PDF OCR to process the current page, all or part of it. You can also change the interface language.
If you want to convert images to PDF, you should know that PDF OCR allows drag-and-drop and batch conversion, and supports JPG, TIF, BMP, GIF and PNG extensions.
This allows you to specify the document's title, author name, creation date, subject, keywords, and output directory. You can also adjust the compression quality.
The streamlined program runs with a low to moderate amount of system resources and quickly completes conversion jobs without freezing, crashing or encountering errors. However, the text layout doesn't maintain excellent quality. For example, PDF OCR does not support special characters in non-English languages.
Also, there is no help file available, the interface is outdated, and you cannot convert PDF to TXT in batch mode. We recommend PDF OCR with reservations, mainly for beginners.
